Christian Education

Here at Trinity, we believe that being a Christian is not about memorizing a bunch of information or learning how to follow the rules. It is about learning to be faithful and discerning in a complex world. Our Christian Formation program helps children, youth, and adults cultivate a way of life that values caring for those in need, taking responsibility for God’s world, curiosity, wonderment, and deepening our relationship with God.

A Central Place

Children have a central place in our community.··They are included in all aspects of our life together - in fellowship, service, and worship. In worship, children participate in a children's time every Sunday with Pastor Peggy and many children serve as worship assistants.

Sunday School (Preschool - Fifth Grade)

We use the curriculum·Spark! which follows the Bible readings appointed each Sunday.··Children become familiar with Bible stories, people, and themes through age appropriate lessons, activities, and crafts.··Sixth to Ninth graders continue their learning in Confirmation Classes.

Baptismal Preparation

Baptism is the beginning of our journey with God.· We encourage and equip parents with a number of resources: instruction, congregational support,  a children’s Bible. We recognize that parents need support as they nurture their children’s baptismal journey of faith.··We provide social and learning opportunities for parents throughout the year.

First Communion Preparation

When children prepare for First Communion they discover that there is a special place for them at God’s Table.· They become full participants and partners in the ministry we share.· Readiness is determined by parents and the pastor, but for most kids First Communion happens at about second grade.
